GK middle schoolers visit the WNYC offices.
Through a partnership with the Hive NYC Learning Network and WNYC, for the 2015-2016 school year, Global Kids brought WNYC’s Radio Rookies programs to our middle school sites. Radio Rookies is a National Public Radio initiative that helps youth to create original radio segments. To implement the Radio Rookies programming, GK staff trained at the Radio Rookies‘ New York City office. This partnership helped expand WNYC’s Radio Rookies program reach to more students across NYC.
Students were empowered to express their opinions using audio media and found about the world and one another while gaining radio journalism skills.
