Registration is now open for the first ever VIRTUAL GK5K! This year’s walk/run will take place on Halloween, so get dressed up with your family or friends and take a stroll or run around your neighborhood! It’s a fun, socially-distant way to give back—and we need you now more than ever.
All proceeds from the race go to our College & Career Readiness Program, preparing Global Kids high school students for college and the workplace. With looming budget cuts due to COVID and so much uncertainty surrounding the upcoming school year, our students are at risk of being left behind. Many have already suffered disproportionately due to the virus. We can help change that with your support!
Participating in the Virtual GK5K is easy!
- Join us for a kickoff event at 10:00 AM on Facebook Live.
- Race begins at 10:30 AM – run from any location!
- Upload your time by November 8.
- All participants receive bibs and early registrants are guaranteed a running buff.
- Winners in all age categories will receive a medal in the mail.
- Post-run award ceremony will be held November 9.

About Global Kids' College and Career Readiness Program
Proceeds from the Global Kids 5k Run/Walk will support Global Kids’ College and Career Readiness Program, which provides critical programming and support to youth as they prepare for life after High School. Throughout this program, youth explore their academic and career options and set goals, receive one to one support with the college application process, participate in career days with partner organizations and corporations, engage in panel discussions with professionals from multiple sectors, receive career readiness training, go on college trips, and have opportunities to be placed in internships and summer work experiences. This program is more important than ever due to COVID – students are learning online, not getting the support they need to apply to college. GK is providing one-on-one support to ensure they are successful.
