Maya Faison

​Maya is a Queens native and Global Kids alumna.  She received her B.A. in Anthropology from Adelphi University. During her time at Adelphi, she served as President of Black Students United, a resident assistant, and a member of the Adelphi University Diversity Committee. During her summers in college, she worked with anthropologists from the American Museum of Natural History to examine climate change in New York and Samoa, was a communication intern for Outward Bound Center for Peacebuilding, and researched the plight of day laborers in the metropolitan area with the ILR School at Cornell University. Maya enjoys baking, volunteering at her church, and learning about how marginalized groups are working to become free from their oppressors.
