Registration is now open for the #GK5K Run/Walk! After a year in the virtual space, we decided to do hybrid this year: Virtual Race from anywhere in the world Oct 9-20, with an in-person race at 9:30 AM on Saturday, October 16 in Flushing Meadows Park in Queens. Please join us!

All proceeds from the race go to our College & Career Readiness Program, preparing Global Kids high school students for life after high school. Youth receive essential support through the college application process, exposure to a wide variety of careers, and job readiness training through internships, among many other services. Last year despite COVID and difficulties around remote learning, 100% of participants graduated high school with 91% matriculating to college in the fall!

Participating in the Hybrid GK5K is easy!

  • Run any time/anywhere! Upload your time between October 9 -20.
  • In-person race on October 16 in Flushing Meadows Park.
  • All live participants receive a GK5K 2021 T-shirt.

About Global Kids' College and Career Readiness Program

Proceeds from the Global Kids 5k Run/Walk will support Global Kids’ College and Career Readiness Program, which provides critical programming and support to youth as they prepare for life after High School. Throughout this program, youth explore their academic and career options and set goals, receive one to one support with the college application process, participate in career days with partner organizations and corporations, engage in panel discussions with professionals from multiple sectors, receive career readiness training, go on college trips, and have opportunities to be placed in internships and summer work experiences. This program is more important than ever due to COVID – After a year in the virtual space, we are helping youth adjust to returning to full in-person and providing the support they need to apply to college. GK is providing one-on-one support to ensure they are successful.
