Communications Manager

Full-Time Position

We are seeking a creative, thorough and organized communications manager to join our team. The Communications Manager works to promote our organization by creating informative digital and print content, media opportunities, and communications strategies which share Global Kids’ mission, programs, and impact. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce high-quality, informative, and engaging communications materials, including quarterly newsletters, annual report, information packets, and press releases
  • Ensure all messaging aligns with organizational mission and goals
  • Manage and develop content for social media, websites, and other distribution channels
  • Create presentations, articles, reports, and information as needed
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with teams for new ideas and strategies
  • Work with key staff to develop and disseminate marketing and communications materials
  • Identify media and press opportunities
  • Monitor press, maintain a digital and print archive of media coverage
  • Monitor and analyze digital communications engagement and reach
  • Develop, in conjunction with other staff, an annual communications plan
  • Coordinate documentation of Global Kids’ work with program staff 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, or related field; Master’s a plus
  • Three years of professional experience in communications, PR, or related field
  • Experience with technologies and best practices for campaigns across multiple platforms
  • Knowledge and experience with WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design and web technologies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent copywriting and content creation skills
  • Ability to multitask and monitor several projects and accounts on a daily basis
  • Ability to work effectively under deadline and manage time effectively, including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to take initiative to develop new strategies and ideas for social media
  • Excellent media relations skills, including experience pitching stories to local and national press outlets
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge and interest in global affairs, social justice, and public policy and belief in Global Kids mission
  • Videography, and/or photography skills a plus

Salary

Mid 40’s to low 50’s, depending on degree level and experience. Excellent benefits and PTO. We are actively seeking candidates of diverse backgrounds.
