Global Kids' 2013 Benefit was held on Thursday, May 9th at the Council on Foreign Relations. GK was thrilled to honor United Nations Youth Champion Monique Coleman. Monique is most recognized as Taylor Mckessie in Disney’s High School Musical franchise. However, her most significant role came in 2010 when she was appointed first ever United Nations Youth Champion for the International Year of Youth. Mo self-initiated a 6 month global tour which spanned 24 countries. Her aim was to raise awareness about the most pressing issues facing youth and encourage young people to foster progress in their communities. She is founder and CEO of GimmeMo, a multi-platform community that inspires youth through positive dialog as well as a Girl Up Champion and Peace One Day Ambassador.
