The USA (and all the countries backing it) have gotten themselves into a mess. In the name of the "free world," they have gone on a crusade, a "war on terrorism" to combat that which they believe to be evil. How does it end? When can they say that they have won (or lost) such a war? Could it even be done? A war on terrorism doesn't seem to have an exact destination. How does it all end? What will the world be like when this is over? In a hundred years, what will people look back on us as being? Barbaric? Agressive? Saviors?
It's something that's been on my mind. I was wondering what you all think.

I don't think this war will ever end if they try to eliminate terrorism. Its almost like having a war on racism, discrimination, prejudice, ignorance, etc. I think that it is nearly impossible to get rid of something that people believe in. Heck, I think there is still the NAZI party in Germany. I would like to think that the world would be a better place after this war, but I am really not sure. I mean, sure, there is going to be one less terrorist, but is it necessary? This war has a lot of heart put into it...but I don't think it is beneficial. The United States is a country that needs to prove to everyone that we are strong, and since on 9-11 we weren't, we needed to fight against someone.

Cri,
It's understandable why you would be thinking about what comes next. We all would like to know. Yes, dancestar23, there are Neo-Nazi and Facist followers still in the world today. War, it seems, does not end an ideal or belief. War can dwindle the believers, but that's about it. Is what we doing necessary? Well, of course it is; we need to do something to prevent something worse from happening. Does some of the stuff the U.S. does wrong? In other words,in the U.S. perfect? However, war is necessary especially when the welfare of the free world is at stake. "How will it end?" you ask? Everyone says "we will win because we have the technology", but in reality, why cares about how it will end? I'm not saying you're wrong, cri, in asking your question, but that the ending's not important. Don't worry about the ending and waste the time you have now. Sure, it's okay to have that worry or keep it at the back of your mind, but don't worry your life away. Life's too short to worry about the days that are yet to come.
