Do you think that these jokes are mean and that we're not taking this seriously enough? People think they are showing that they are proud to be American when really they are just usig this as an excuse to make people laugh. I think some of the jokes are funny but some people are just going way too far with it. I did hear one joke though, that I thought was sort of a good idea-if we ever catch bin Laden, we shouldn't kill him, but give him a sex change and send him back to Afghanistan so he would understand how awful the things the Taliban is doing to women are.
Now that it is actually brought up in my mind, I think that those jokes may be kind of bad at times. I used to get them from people in my address book and read it and shuck it off. Nobody is really sure if the guy is really alive or if he is where he is. People joke about finding so if they really want to find him why don't they go help look for him too. So I think a couple of the first jokes are ok but now it is starting to go a little too far.

I think a lot of those jokes go too far. They start to insult people who are muslim, or Afghanistan in general, and I've heard some rather twisted ones. It's one thing to paste Bin Ladens picture next to George Bush, but it's another to "joke" about nuking a country or twisted schemes to kill someone.
There's a saying that goes tragedy+time=comedy. I think that in order for people not to be offended we have to be somewhat detached from it.
I personally like some of the jokes....some of them are actually funny! I mean c'mon, a joke is a joke....funny is funny, if u dont think its funny, just ignore it.
