Today we took a tour of Durban - visiting a township, the beach front, and the largest Mosque in Africa - and then attended the opening of the Youth Forum.

Day 2: Monday, August 27

Today we participated in the Youth Summit. Annie and Dezroy both spoke before the group and Dezroy took on a leadership role, representing the youth's concerns.

Day 3 - 5: Tuesday, August 28 - Thursday, August 30th

Over these three days we participated in the NGO Forum. We went to all sorts of workshops, worked with other youth developing a youth document for the conference, and met people from all over the world.

Day 6: Friday, August 31st

Today we went to the opening ceremonies of the World Conference Against Racism. Dezroy was nominated by other youth to represent the Americas in the development of a final youth document.

Day 7 & 8: Saturday, September 1st -Sunday, September 2nd

We went on a two day trip north of Durban to safari at the Hluhluwe/Umfolozi and St. Lucia reserves. We saw lots of animals!

Day 9: Monday, September 3rd

Day 10: Tuesday, September 4th

Today is out last day in Durban. After some last minute shopping, we helped form a Global Youth Network. Afterwards, we went to the Jewish Community Center where the community responded to the anti-Semitism they had encountered at the conference.
