Entry Seven: Hluwehluwe/Umfolozi Game Park
For the past two days I was in the largest safari in my life. To some people it might be small, but to me it was WOW! It took us three hours driving North of Durban to get there.

On the first day we saw some of the most beautiful animals on mother earth. It was not the same as watching them on TV. In South Africa there are five animals known as the "big five". They are the elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard, and, the king of them all, the lion. They are not called the big five because of size but because they are the hardest to kill. And I saw three of them, the elephant, buffalo, and rhino.

We spent the night in the middle of the safaris at a camp called Hilltop, in little houses. That was cool. This morning we got an early start. We saw an elephant first thing. The van was about ten feet away from it. Then we spent the rest of the day looking for the next two big five, the leopard and the lion, but they were no where to be found. Then we came back to Durban.

It was one of the best experiences I have ever had, and I loved it.
