Entry Ten: Reflections
It was an honor to be at the conference. It was very informative. I not only got to learn about issues such as reparations, castes systems, and Zionism, I also got to learn about different cultures in the African society and different cultures throughout the world.

It was tough for me to have so many people view me as a leader. Yes, I am a Global Kids leader, but my peers know me for a period of time before I stand out as a leader. But in Durban the youths of the world viewed me as a leader by listening to just one speech and this was a little hard to take in (not hard - shocking).

Being in South Africa was an experience I will never forget. I learned more about Africa than I've ever learned in school. I listened to both white and black South Africans who lived during and after Apartheid. It was very heart-touching to listen to what they had to say.

The best part of the trip to Durban was meeting youth from other parts of the world. It was the first time I have ever, ever made so many friends in so little time. I made friends from Atlanta to Russia, from Cali to Norway, from the Asia-Pacific to the U.K., from Canada to Brazil.

It was just an amazing experience.
