So, you want to be a Second Life Educator at Global Kids.

If you want to bring the work within five program areas of the MacArthur Foundation into Teen Second Life, the 3D virtual world for 13-17 year olds, including such topics as juvenile justice, human migration, and the environment, click here. The SL Educator will work with teen residents through interactive workshops, develop youth leaders, and produce on-going open competitions in Second Life with cash incentives. The SL Educator will collaborate closely with a Second Life Producer at Global Kids who will work closely with the MacArthur Foundation and assist in the incorporation of content and the development of the competitions.

If you want to be involved with an after-school program for teens to learn about science, technology, and/or programming through Second Life, please click here. This curriculum will take teens new to Second Life into this virtual world, train them in the basic skills required to function within it, and then use those skills to explore the unique affordances of virtual worlds for teaching science, technology, and/or programming.
