| Mission and History Who We Are Annual Report Meet the Global Kids News Support Global Kids Get Involved Contact Us Jobs | ![]() Global Kids' programs address the urgent need for young people to possess leadership skills and an understanding of complex global issues to succeed in the 21 st century workplace and participate in the democratic process. Global Kids' success is clear. By educating students about international affairs and their role in the policymaking process, GK has been able to motivate and inspire urban public school students, many of whom have been labeled at risk of school drop out, to succeed in school and become campus leaders. Annually, more than 90% of the seniors in GK's leadership programs graduate from high school and the majority attend college with scholarships. Global Kids' programs are led by a team of highly trained professionals with backgrounds in education, a range of international fields, creative arts, and digital media, among others. At more than 20 New York City public middle and high schools and many citywide sites, they engage students in intensive workshops, field trips, guest speakers, and other activities. All programs:
Global Kids' work is augmented by strong partnerships with New York City Department of Education, NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, Adelphi University, Council on Foreign Relations, Ping Chong & Company, New School University, Games for Change, UNICEF, PBS's NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, Peace Boat U.S. , Farleigh Dickinson University, The After School Corporation, The Hague Appeal for Peace, and the United Way of New York City , among others. |
